Mario Perrino


Mario refereed his first game in Manitoba in 1967. He was an instrumental part of forming the Manitoba Soccer Referee Association in 1968, and later became President in 1972, a position he held for fourteen years.

Over his career he refereed over 5000 games, including the Canada Summer Games, CSA National Championships, Canadian Soccer League Finals and was an assistant referee at the World Cup and Olympic Qualifying matches for CONCACAF. He continues to be an honorary National Referee.

Mario was honored with the Canada Soccer Award of Merit in 1994 and was honored with a life membership to the Manitoba Soccer Association in 2002. He was also the recipient of the Manitoba Soccer Frank Major Award of Merit in 2012. In 2018 he was inducted into the Manitoba Soccer Hall of Fame.
